Trouble for SAC’s film

Problems continue to haunt Vijay and those close to him. After the actor’s ‘Kavalan’ crossed a lot of hurdles before hitting the screens this Pongal, a film being made by his father S A Chandrasekaran is facing trouble now.

‘Sattapadi Kuttram’, a movie directed by SAC with Sathyaraj and Seeman playing the lead roles, was recently shot in the deep forest areas near Sathyamangalam, after obtaining necessary permission from the authorities concerned.

Meanwhile, Osai, an NGO, has opposed this. “It is a reserve forest area where no film shoot should be allowed. Let the officials remove the reserve forest tag and then permit shooting of movies.”

It is said that the 60-member cast and crew of ‘Sattapadi Kuttram’, a remake of ‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai’, landed in the forest area and shot at places which are earmarked as haunts for elephants and tigers. “If shootings are allowed, the already diminishing number of animals will go down further,” wildlife activists feel.
